Well it’s been about 6 weeks now since the “birth” of Body Beyond Birth! What an amazing time it has been with so many fantastic opportunities being presented to us. Becky and I are so grateful for all of the love and support people have shown us… Thank you all so much.[dt_gap height=”10″ /]
Becky and I are so excited about online Pilates class Body Beyond Birth. We’re passionate about helping others that it really does energise us and give us the strength to keep going.
People are often surprised we have young children. They nearly fall over when I tell them that I have 3 young boys – Maui who’s 4 and the twins who are now 21 months. Yes, I really did start working on the business with Becky when the twins were about 6 months old. Then the next question is “but how did you find the time?”[dt_gap height=”10″ /]
It’s at that time I normally have a huge grin on my face. Part of me feels like they think I’m crazy or possibly they think I’ve solved some major riddle. And another part of me thinks, “I really have no idea how I got everything I needed to get done!“[dt_gap height=”10” /]
I’m sure there’s some of you thinking by now, so what? I wanted to share with you what I believe to be the key ingredients to realising your dreams and making them your reality.
So ‘m putting my professional HR hat on. I’ve seen people achieve so much when they’ve put their mind to it. And I am here to tell you that while your dream may not be to launch an online Pilates class, the same rules apply. [dt_gap height=”10″ /]

So what are those key ingredients to creating your dreams and successes? Let me explain them to you[dt_gap height=”10″ /]

Knowing what you want is key

Becky and I didn’t sit down and say “we want to work for ourselves” or “we want to be popular on the internet.” We knew what we wanted to do.
You need to know what you want.
What do you want to achieve? Set a clear goal for yourself. If you’re not sure what that is, write lists of things you want to achieve in terms of health and fitness. Or work through your business and work goals by writing down what you love doing and what don’t you love doing. Define what success is to you.
Keep re-working that list until something jumps out at you and your goal becomes clear. Write that down and keep your eye on prize![dt_gap height=”10″ /]

Build a roadmap for your goals

Our online Pilates class and curriculum wasn’t born in a day. We worked for many months to refine the ideas, build the workouts and make Body Beyond Birth what it is today.
The same should apply to your goal. Don’t be afraid to set yourself a challenge or a goal where you really have to stretch yourself to achieve it. Once you have your goal defined, think about the stepping stones you need to take to get there.
Give yourself smaller, more manageable goals which will lead to you reaching that ultimate goal once you achieve them. It will give you such great satisfaction to tick things off as your journey progresses.[dt_gap height=”10″ /]
The next step is the reality check. Is that goal realistic – can you achieve it? What is your current reality? What do you need to happen in order to achieve that goal? What additional resources will you need? Think about the time you have available with current commitments (and family!) and start to think about what support you may need to see this happen.[dt_gap height=”10″ /]
it doesn’t matter if you’re planning to take on the world or to be fitter by Christmas, knowing what success is and how you plan to get there is important!

Be inspired and realistic

Give yourself a timeframe that you want to achieve your goal. Be realistic to set yourself up for success and not heartbreak. As much as it would be cool to have an online Pilates class that took over the entire world in a month, we knew that was not going to happen.
Keep it challenging, but think about everything you listed with a healthy dose of reality. And take real life into account.[dt_gap height=”10″ /]

Think about the commitment required

Ask yourself what your commitment to achieving this goal? What do you need to sacrifice and do to make it happen? Where’s your will to win?
Test yourself. Is your commitment great enough that you’re willing to share your goal with others? Perhaps your family or perhaps your friends on our BBB community page or Facebook? Give it a go. You can set goals for pretty much anything you want to achieve in life! Put pen to paper or finger to your touch screen and write it all down. It becomes like a contract with yourself and a roadmap to show you how to get there.[dt_gap height=”10″ /]

The final word on achieving your goals

The best part and a key part of success is to reward yourself! Just like you would when you level up on our online Pilates class, think about what celebration might look like to you.
Set yourself smaller targets to achieving the major goal. Reward yourself as you cross off minor goals and make progress. Reward yourself big time when you’ve reached the end goal! You will really deserve that celebration.[dt_gap height=”10″ /]
And when you get to your goal, why stop there? Set yourself another goal and just keep going. The more you achieve, the more you want to achieve. The more you believe you can achieve, the more you know you can achieve.[dt_gap height=”10″ /]
We launched an online Pilates class while juggling families, careers, our fitness and our friendships. That doesn’t make us SuperWoman. It simply makes us super applied and super organised. Everything comes from small steps, small commitments and slowly but surely builds up.
